Full Ride Federal SFS Scholarship

Scholarship For Service (SFS) is a unique program designed to increase and strengthen the cadre of federal information assurance professionals that protect the government's critical information infrastructure. This program provides scholarships that fully fund the typical costs that students pay for books, tuition, and room and board while attending an approved institution of higher learning. Additionally, participants receive stipends for living expenses. The scholarships are funded through grants awarded by the National Science Foundation. For more details on Cyber Corps scholarship, please see https://www.sfs.opm.gov/.

Rising junior (current sophomore) Computer Science students in good standing are encouraged to apply. For more details about eligibility and service requirements please visit the Undergraduate SFS Announcement. Interested students must submit the Scholarship Agreement Form (PDF), by 3/1/2012.

Department of Defense Information Assurance Scholarship Program (DoD/IASP):

DoD/IASP was established to increase the number of qualified students entering the field of Information Assurance (IA) to meet DoD’s increasing dependence on information technology for war fighting and the security of its information infrastructure. Regionally accredited U.S. institutions of higher education, designated by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as Centers of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE/IAE), are invited to submit proposals for developing and managing a full-time, institution-based, grant-funded scholarship program in the disciplines underpinning Information Assurance (JMU is one of the original seven CAEs). This scholarship is usually announced in November or December of each year and its application deadline is in February of the following year. For More details on the DoD Scholarship please see DoD Scholarship.
