Experience

• Dr. Fox was Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Bowling Green State University between 1981 and 1984. In 1984 he became Microcomputer Software Development Project Manager at Lockheed Dialog Information Services, and in 1985 he came to Bell Laboratories as a Member of the Technical Staff. In 1989 Dr. Fox became a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff for his work in user interface design and development, and in quality tools. After a brief period as Vice President for Engineering in a small electronic imaging company, Dr. Fox returned to Bell Laboratories in 1991 to join a group developing new approached to improving data and information quality. In 1992 Dr. Fox joined the Computer Science faculty at James Madison University, where he is helping to develop new curricula in Computer Science and Integrated Science and Technology.

Scholarly Interests/Research Topics

• Teaching programming and good programming practice, software engineering, and most recently, software design. Research interests include software engineering tools, environments, and practices, user interface design, multimedia information systems, software quality, and software reuse.
